Dryer Vent Hose Crafts That Are Cool Weather Clever

While they may look beautiful, store-bought decorations and costumes can limit creativity and strain the wallet. Our dryer vent hose crafts are not only inexpensive, but they free the imagination to create some unique fall looks.

Dryer Vent Pumpkins

DIY dryer vent pumpkins in bright orange or creamy white can add easy fall color to any home. Simply bend 2 feet of dryer hose into a circle and secure with hot glue. Spray paint with your favorite autumn color. When the paint dries, add a stick, some floral wire, and green paper leaves to the middle for the stem, vine, and leaves.

You’ll Need:

  • Dryer vent hose
  • Spray paint
  • Hot glue
  • Cork, floral wire, and fake leaves (you can make these at home if you like)
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters

Dryer Vent Juice Box Costume

Did you know dryer vent hose crafts can make original Halloween costumes? To create a human-sized juice box, secure two trifold boards together with hot glue to make a box. Use markers, construction paper, paint, or fabric to design the outside of your favorite juice box flavor or brand. Lastly, bend a dryer vent hose into the shape of a straw and secure it to the top of your costume with cardboard.

You’ll need:

  • Tri-fold boards
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • Markers, paint, fabric, or construction paper
  • Cardboard
  • Dryer vent hose

Dryer Vent Hose Pumpkin Wreath

Nothing provides a warm autumn welcome like a festive wreath on the front door. But who knew dryer vent crafts could include this popular fall decor? Cut one dryer vent anywhere from 12″ to 36″ long and secure the ends with hot glue to form a circle. Spray with orange spray paint, adding faux leaves and thin twine to the top to form a vine. As a final touch, hot glue a burlap bow in the center of the leaves and vine.

You’ll need:

  • Dryer vent hose
  • Hot glue
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Orange spray paint
  • Faux leaves
  • Twine

Dryer Vent Hose Elephant Costume

With some basic supplies, a simple dryer vent hose can become Dr. Seuss’ beloved elephant from Horton Hears a Who. Attach a dryer vent hose to the bill of a baseball cap for Horton’s trunk, adding two cardboard elephant ears on either side. Cover the hat, ears, and trunk with gray fabric, adding Horton’s spike of black hair and eyes with yarn, felt, and a black marker.

You’ll need:

  • Dryer vent hose
  • Baseball cap
  • Cardboard
  • Gray fabric
  • White felt
  • Black marker

Dryer Vent Hose Robot Costume

A dryer vent robot costume comes together quickly with a rectangular appliance box as a robot body. After spraying or painting the box with silver paint, decorate with markers or construction paper to create robot functions or pictures. Last but not least, attach two arm-length dryer vent hoses on either side of the box to make your robot Halloween-ready.

You’ll need:

  • Dryer vent hose
  • Rectangular appliance box
  • Silver paint or spray paint
  • Markers or construction paper
